Er...you'll want to check to see if there were any hotfixes put in place to stop any exploitations of in-game situations. Usually the only reason you see costs go up like that is to prevent players from buying them until something regarding the item(s) in question is fixed. I can't find any info on this, but it may be something that the devs caught and needed to immediately put a stop to and haven't had time to get any word out yet.

You could always ask in the Customer Support forum as well, which is a better place to ask anyway since the problem you are seeing is not a tech support related issue. :)

Thank you, Tiapriestess. I can't thank you enough for this. I tried changing the config.wtf file to get my 1920x1200 back but it no longer works. This did the trick!!
Tech beginner here, Where do i find the Terminal?
I thought I had that in there. The location of Terminal is now in the original post.

I tried this, but it doesn't fix my tiny UI in game. Is there anyway to fix this? I can run it at its max resolution, but all of the UI is tiny. If I run it any lower it is unclear and the UI is never scaled correctly.
Tick the UI Scale checkbox and use the slider in your game preferences. The UI will then scale properly.

I believe resolution problems are back again with the new 10.9.3 Mavericks update. I cant get my screen to work through my Mac edition R9 280X OC card through DVI or Mini Display ports. It causes my screen to not scale right and look letter boxed in ALL blizzard games.

Everything else in my system is fine including non blizzard games.

The only workaround I have is to use the HDMI out of the card and run into the HDMI port on my monitor or use DVI out and HDMI in with an adapter or cable with HDMI on one end and DVI on the other.
Thank you very much.

defaults write com.blizzard.worldofwarcraft DesktopModeIsDefault 1

Fixed my 2nd monitor overscan issue completely.

Now if only Mavericks wasn't such a kludge.
Mostly had to respond here so I can find this post again.

Thanks again

I guess I was looking more for a yes or no answer.

Bottom Line

I want my desktop set on (More Space) 1920x1200 and I want WoW to give me the resolution of 2880x1880

Will the instructions do that?

I believe the fixies we have planned for the rMBP mouse scaling issue might fix this, but I will check with our team about this.
Did you find a solution? I just got a brand new retina 15 inch and only get like 16 fps.. something is wrong. Playing on 2880x1800 resolution and "Good" settings. My old 13 inch macbook pro did better than this.
I downloaded US client to say thanks. Thanks a lot! I have found this topic after 1 year from bought my display! You should make same topic at EU/RU forum.
yea but at the same time you need to remember your old 13" wasn't pushing a resolution of 2880x1800. Though getting 16fps seems to be a bit off. Unless you got the model that didn't include the dedicated GPU.

if your computer is only running the intel Iris pro, you may need to change your graphics settings down a bit, and bring the resolution down also.
I've been struggling even with 6.1 as wow will not advertise the proper resolutions for my 2560x1440 monitor. I used this command and BAM! Thank you.
Worked perfectly. Thanks Tia!
This fix worked for me. Thanks!
I've had the monitor for a while now, but I thought I should probably mention it...

I bought an Acer XB270HU 2560x1440p 144Hz external monitor, and I had to use this trick to get WoW to run at the native resolution and refresh rate. Afterwards, WoW runs at 1440p and 144Hz on Mac OS X.

So it's useful for external displays in addition to Apple's retina displays. Thanks Tia!
Terminal commands in OP make absolutely no graphical difference on my 2015 iMac running 10.11.2. The only effect it had was my cursor was 2x smaller and tracked 2x slower.

I took a screenshot with the commands in place, and again after I deleted the plist and restarted the game. I paged between the two, and aside from NPC movement, every pixel was exactly the same.
