Character Not Found Error When Adding a Friend

You will receive "Character Not Found" when a character with the name you are typing in does not exist in your realm.

This will typically happen if: 

• You are entering your friend's name incorrectly
• Your friend belongs to the opposite faction
• Your friend deleted the character
• Your friend is in another realm

You cannot be friends with characters on other realms, but you can be BattleTag friends and play together in cross-realm party.
