This error message occurs when your game loses its connection with the World of Warcraft servers. Check the @BlizzardCS Twitter account for the current server status. You can also visit our Technical Support Forums for additional information.

  1. If there are no active server issues, follow the steps in the Connection section of World of Warcraft Technical Troubleshooting to resolve this issue.
  2. You may also find it helpful to use the self-service option to move your character.
  3. If all other troubleshooting fails, you can attempt to enable IPv6 in your WoW networking options. Be advised that enabling IPv6 in some regions can actually cause other problems, and if that happens, you will need to unselect this option: Game Menu > Options > Network > Enable IPv6 when available.

Note: Getting this error during an item restoration on an online character is normal. Simply log back in to retrieve your item(s) and continue playing.
