Common Problems

Failed to launch Agent or AgentSwitcher. Please close all other applications, temporarily deactivate your anti-virus software, and try again. Alternatively, log in as an administrator and try again.

The desktop app can't launch the Agent or AgentSwitcher, which are required to install, update, and run Blizzard games. Permission conflicts or file corruption can cause this error to display.

  1. Delete the Tools folder to automatically rebuild outdated or corrupt files.
  2. Run the Desktop App in Administrator Mode to address many installation, patching, networking, and start-up errors.
  3. Try closing background applications to resolve any software conflicts.
Advanced Troubleshooting
  1. Try creating a new administrator account to resolve permissions issues.
  2. Update or temporarily uninstall any security programs, which may mistakenly identify the login module as a security threat.
