Common Problems

Failed to open a required file. Please check your internet connection and try again.

One or more of your game files are corrupted and can’t be opened. Follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue.

  1. If you receive this error while installing from a disc, remove the disc and download the game client instead.
  2. If you're using a wireless connection, optimize your internet connection to rule out a connection issue.
  3. Configure your security software's exception list to allow Blizzard applications to run.
Advanced Troubleshooting
  1. Close all other applications to resolve software conflicts and free up resources.
  2. Delete the Tools folder to automatically rebuild outdated or corrupt files.
