Chronoboon Displacer

The Chronoboon Displacer is an item that stores your World Buffs allowing you to activate them later. It was introduced to WoW Classic on patch 1.13.7. Its purpose is to prevent characters from being on a "World Buff prison". Check the announcement blue post for details.

Here is how it works: 

1. Buy a Chronoboon Displacer from Chromie
2. Go get your World Buffs
3. When you have all the buffs you want, right-click on the Chronoboon Displacer in your bags to charge it with your buffs

This will create the Supercharged Chronoboon Displacer in your inventory and put an aura on you. Mousing over the aura will show all the World Buffs you charged in your displacer, and their duration at the time you did it. See screenshot. 

You can now go play a dungeon, or farm, or whatever. Your World Buffs are not being wasted. Your aura cannot be dispelled, and will persist through death. 

At the time of your raid, right-click on the Supercharged Chronoboon Displacer in your bags to discharge your saved buffs and put them on you. This action destroys the displacer. 

How to Obtain it

To buy the Chronoboon Displacer talk to Chromie in the Ruins of Andorhol in Western Plaguelands. Chromie may ask you to complete a short quest chain before you can start buying it. 

The Chronoboon Displacer costs 10 gold and can you can have a stack of 5. 

Limitations

• You cannot receive on your character the same buffs that are already charged on your displacer. You can receive different buffs though
• Some buffs cannot be added to the displacer. For example:
  • Most consumable buffs such as Spirit Conch cannot be added to the displacer
  • Boon of Blackfathom can only be added and used if your character is under level 40
• You cannot add new buffs to a charged displacer
• You cannot charge a second displacer until you discharge the first one
• Charging a displacer has a 1 hour cooldown (real time, not login time)
• You cannot charge or discharge a displacer while in combat
• The Season of Discovery variant of the Chronoboon Displacer cannot be used on non-SoD realms

Because of the above rules:

• If you are missing buffs that you want to bring to your raid you can discharge your displacer to put all its buffs on you, receive the additional buffs, then charge a new displacer with your new set of buffs, as long as you are not on cooldown
• You cannot use the displacer to save buffs before a wipe

There are no known issues with the Chronoboon Displacer. If you believe you encountered a bug, make sure that you are not experiencing a user interface issue due to third party addons. Customer Support cannot add or restore buffs.
