Download the Mobile Authenticator!

The Battle.net Mobile Authenticator is an application you can install on your cell phone or mobile device.

When using a Battle.net Mobile Authenticator, we recommend registering for Battle.net SMS Protect. This free service allows you to easily remove an authenticator using text message verification (SMS).

Basics

You can download the Battle.net Mobile Authenticator application on any supported mobile phone and provider. If your provider and mobile phone are not supported, you may purchase a physical Battle.net Authenticator.

When you log in, you'll be prompted for an eight-digit numeric code, generated when you select View Code in the Battle.net Mobile Authenticator application. Each code is unique and is valid only once. If you log in consistently from the same location, you may not be asked for an authenticator code. This makes login faster when you're at a secure location.

To stop authenticator checks when you log in to Battle.net Account Management, check Remember this computer for 30 days during login. Do not check this box if you are on a shared or public computer.

If you'd prefer an authenticator code prompt at every login, log in to Battle.net Account Management, choose Security Options Authenticator, and check the box next to Require an authenticator code every time you log in to the game.

Note: Classic games are not protected by the Battle.net Mobile Authenticator. To be sure your computer is secure, review our Account and Computer Security article.

Removal

If you've lost, reset, or purchased a new mobile phone, you can remove your Battle.net Authenticator.

Core Hound Pup

After attaching an authenticator, you'll find the Core Hound Pup waiting in your in-game mailbox. The Core Hound Pup is an account-wide pet available to players on realms located in North America, Europe, and Korea.

If you remove the authenticator, the Core Hound Pup will disappear from your pet collection after you log out, and you'll need to reattach an authenticator to receive the pet again.

The Battle.net Authenticator is a physical device that fits easily on a key ring. You can purchase a physical authenticator from the Blizzard Gear store.
