Communication and Transmission Errors

Keywords:
There was a communication/transmission error. Please restart. If the problem persists, please contact customer service.

This error may occur when the Blizzard Update Agent is unable to connect with our server. Follow the steps for your operating system below.

Windows

  1. If you're using a wireless connection, switch to a wired connection and optimize your internet connection to rule out a connection issue.
  2. The Blizzard Update Agent uses settings from Internet Explorer. Even if you don't use Internet Explorer for browsing, check for offline mode in Internet Explorer to ensure this is not an issue.
  3. Update Adobe Flash Player to resolve any issues an outdated plugin may cause.
  4. You may experience errors when Blizzard Update Agent files are missing or corrupt. Delete the Battle.net Tools folder to have the Update Agent automatically recreate necessary files.
