If you are receiving this error while attempting to install Diablo II, Diablo II Lord of Destruction, or Starcraft with game discs, this means the version that is located on the discs are Classic Environment application installs. These will not install on more recent Mac OS X versions.
Classic environment applications are not supported on any Intel-based Macs, and can only run on Mac OS X 10.4 or lower on PowerPC Macs. If you have a newer Mac that is Intel-based or is above Mac OS X 10.5, you must obtain a digital version of the game. You can add your existing CD keys to Battle.net to download the game client.
All of our Battle.net games can now be downloaded via Battle.net if you have lost or are having problems with the CDs, or have purchased a game online through the Battle.net Shop.
- You must create a Battle.net account and verify the email address to download the games.
- Once the account has been created and verified, you can add your CD key to your Battle.net account to obtain the digital download version.
Note for Starcraft and Diablo II Users: The CD key needed for the digital download will be 26 alphanumeric characters in length. You can register an older 13 digit numeric Starcraft CD key or 16 digit Diablo II CD key and it will automatically be upgraded to the new 26 alphanumeric CD key required to install the digital download.
