Unhandled Exception: (c0000005)

If you are receiving unhandled exception errors, follow the steps for your operating system below.

Windows

  1. Uninstall your copy of the game.
  2. The file being read may be corrupt. Run Check disk and defragment your hard drive to try to repair any bad sectors.
  3. Run the game in windowed mode by right-clicking the game icon, selecting Properties from the dropdown list, clicking the Shortcut tab on top, and adding -w to the end in the Target dialog box.
  4. Reinstall the game client
  5. After the installation finishes, patch the game. You can patch the game by connecting to Battle.net for an auto-patch or you can download and run standalone patches from our patch page.
  6. The game requires up-to-date drivers to run smoothly. Update your drivers regularly.
  7. If you still get errors, open a support ticket with a detailed description of the steps already taken. Attach your system files to the ticket.

Mac

  1. Uninstall your copy of the game.

  3. Reinstall the game client
