Overclocked Video Cards

Video cards modified to run at a higher clock speed, either by the user or the manufacturer, are not supported and may cause issues in StarCraft II and Heroes of the Storm. If you want to revert your video card settings, please contact your card's manufacturer for assistance before doing so.

Note: Factory overclocked cards may use terms like "Superclocked", "Turbo", or "Supercharged".

Windows

  1. Outdated operating systems can cause issues with the hardware on your computer. Try updating Windows .
  2. Make sure your video drivers are up to date.
  3. Restart your computer to clear its memory and free up system resources.
  4. Try lowering your graphics settings.
  5. Programs running in the background can take system resources that the game requires to run. Close any open background applications.
  6. If your computer gets too hot while playing the game, you may notice video errors or distortions. Check for overheating components.
  7. Corrupted game files may contribute to display issues. Try running the repair tool, or check disk and defragment your hard drive to try to repair any bad sectors.
  8. If you're playing on a laptop, optimize your power management settings and graphics options for gaming.
  9. Video card driver software settings can affect game performance and your computer's ability to display graphics correctly. Restore factory defaults to reset driver software settings.

Mac

  1. Make sure you have the latest version of Mac OS X by running Software Update.
  2. Some MacBook Pro models have two separate graphics cards, which may require manual setup. Ensure your MacBook Pro is set to higher performance or automatic graphics switching is disabled. (15-inch, late 2008 | 17-inch, early 2009 | 15- and 17-inch, mid-2009 | 15-inch, mid-2010 and later | 17-inch, mid-2010 and later).
  3. Restart your computer to clear its memory and free up system resources.
  4. Your game's graphics settings may be set too high. Try lowering the graphics settings.
