Common Problems

  • I cant invite people to my guild
  • Can I invite a player from another realm?
  • I want to invite a friend from the opposing faction
  • How do I invite my alt to my guild

You can invite new members to your guild only if you are the guild leader or your rank has the appropriate permissions. If you don't have permissions to recruit, talk to your leader. Blizzard Customer Support will not modify your rank or permissions.

You can invite new members to the guild in the following ways:

  • Type /ginvite in the chat, followed by the recruits name, for example, /ginvite Bolvar
    • In Modern WoW only, you can invite characters from other realms and factions. Type in /ginvite followed by the character name-realm. For example, /ginvite Bolvar-Zul'jin
    • In Modern WoW only, you can invite characters of the opposing faction. The recruit must first join your Community or be your Battle.net friend
  • List your guild for recruitment, then invite applicants
    • Only available in Modern WoW and Cataclysm Classic
    • You can use this system to invite your alt characters to your own guild
    • Step 1. List your guild in Guild Finder
      • Open your Guild interface (default keybinding O) and go to the Recruitment tab
      • Tick the checkbox to list your guild in Guild Finder and set your requirements
      • Other players will be able to see your listing in the Guild Finder and apply to join your guild
    • Step 2. Invite applicants
      • Open your Guild interface (default keybinding O) and go to the Roster tab
      • Select the applicant and accept them

If you encounter any issues with the commands or interface, make sure your addons are not the cause of the problem, disable any addons and try again.

Customer Support does not assist with adding players to a guild.
