Common Problems
- I don't receive the SMS alerts on my phone.
- I don't receive the verification code on my phone.
If you don't receive verification codes or SMS alerts:
- Make sure that your registered phone number matches the phone number you are attempting to use for verification
- Enable SMS Alerts under Communications Preferences in your Account Settings
- Note: This setting only controls alerts and notifications and not requests for verification codes
- Make sure that you have a strong cellular signal or Wi-Fi connection on your phone. Poor connectivity can lead to delays in receiving SMS messages
- Make sure that your phone's SMS settings are not blocking or filtering messages from unknown or spam sources. Sometimes, these settings can prevent you from receiving codes
- Ensure your phone is not in Airplane Mode or set to Do Not Disturb
- Make sure you haven't blocked Blizzard or classified Battle.net or Blizzard messages as spam
- Refer to your phone documentation on how to review and remove blocked numbers.
- Make sure you don't have any applications installed which can block texts or calls
- Make sure that the latest software updates are installed on your mobile device
- Restart your phone
- Too many SMS requests in a short period may result in being temporarily blocked and no messages will be sent. Please wait 24 hours before attempting to add the phone again
- Some cellular carriers may be unsupported. Please reach out to your provider for information
Due to the increased risk of fraudulent activities using telecommunication services, we may temporarily restrict support in some regions to receive SMS messages to protect our customers and services. These are usually temporary. You can try again later.
Note: Having a phone number on your Battle.net account is optional, and only some games and services such as Call of Duty, Overwatch, Authenticator and Notifications require SMS services. A phone number is not required to create a Battle.net account.
We recommend enabling the Authenticator feature within the Battle.net Mobile app as an alternative verification method.
Blizzard Support is unable to assist with bypassing restrictions or forcing SMS messages to be delivered. If the problem continues, try again later or contact your phone provider for assistance.
