Call of Duty SMS Verification Going to Inaccessible Phone Number

Common Problems

  • The phone number in COD is not the same as the one in my Battle.net account
  • The SMS verification is going to my old phone number
  • The SMS authentication is sent to another number when trying to play COD

If you have recently changed your phone number or no longer have access to the phone number used to create your Call of Duty account, you will need to add or update the number on your Battle.net Account.

Once you update or add a valid number that can receive SMS to your Battle.net Account, the game should then use the updated/new number for Battle.net for challenges or verifications in Call of Duty.

Note: You can only have one Call of Duty title (Modern Warfare III, Black Ops, etc.) under the same Battle.net Account. If you would like to purchase a new Call of Duty license, you will have to make a new Battle.net Account with a new phone number.
