Blizzard App Stuck on Loading Account Information

Common Problems

  • Blizzard App will launch but will indefinitely load the games information with the message, "Loading Account Information."
  • Friends list in the Blizzard app software is not working anymore, it does not load any friends.

The Blizzard app can sometimes have file corruption or permission errors that prevent properly loading your account information.

Please try these steps:

  1. Remove the Battle.net cache data.
  • Windows
    1. Close all Blizzard programs.
      1. Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open the Task Manager.
      2. Click the Processes tab.
      3. Select agent.exe and click End Process.
    2. Navigate to the folder containing the cache directory:
      1. Press Windows Key+R to open the Run dialogue.
      2. Type the following into the Run field and press Enter:
        • Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\
        • Windows Vista \ Windows 7 \ Windows 8.1 \ Windows 10: C:\ProgramData\
    3. Locate the Battle.net folder, right-click it, and select Delete.
    4. If a Blizzard Entertainment folder is present, right-click it and select Delete.
  • Mac
    1. Using Finder, click the Go menu and select Computer.
    2. Click Macintosh HD.
    3. Navigate to the /Users/Shared/Blizzard directory.
    4. Right-click the Battle.net folder and select Move to Trash.
    5. If a Blizzard Entertainment folder is present, right-click it and select Move to Trash.
  1. Uninstall the Blizzard App
  • Windows
    1. Open Control Panel.
    2. Click Uninstall a program.
    3. Right-click on Battle.net and select Uninstall. This will begin the uninstallation process.
    4. If the client is not listed, manually uninstall the Blizzard app:
      1. Click Start (Windows Key + Q in Windows 8), and select All Programs.
      2. After locating Battle.net, right-click the file and select Open File Location.
      3. Move one folder up and delete the entire Battle.net folder.
  • Mac
    1. Open Finder.
    2. Delete Battle.net in /Applications.
    3. While holding down the Option (Alt) key, select Library from the Go menu on the system menu bar.
    4. Delete the Battle.net folder in ~/Library/Application Support/Blizzard.
    5. Navigate to ~/Library/Preferences and delete the following files:
    • com.blizzard.errorreporter.plist
    • com.blizzard.Installer.plist
    • com.blizzard.launcher.plist
    • net.battle.net.app.plist
    • net.battle.Authenticator.prefs
    • net.battle.Identity.prefs
    • net.battnet.battle.plist
