Hearthstone Performance Issues

Common Problems

  • Hearthstone is running slow and choppy.

Before you troubleshoot this issue, check the Hearthstone System Requirements to make sure your device hardware meets the minimum requirements.

 

Windows®

  1. Make sure the Blizzard Battle.net desktop app states Game is up to date for Hearthstone.
  2. Update your drivers and operating system to resolve any compatibility issues.
  3. Run the repair tool to repair any damaged game files.
  4. Close all other applications to resolve software conflicts and free up resources.
Advanced Troubleshooting
  1. Run ScanDisk and defragment your hard drive to try to repair any bad sectors.
    Note: Do not defragment a Solid State Drive (SSD).
  2. Missing or corrupted Windows® system files may cause this error. Use System File Checker to repair and replace system files.
  3. Overheating can cause performance issues, game crashes, and full computer lockups. Check for overheating components.
  4. If you're playing on a laptop, optimize your power management settings and graphics options for gaming.
  5. If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall the game.
