Recruit A Friend allows you to play Blizzard Games with friends and receive exclusive in-game rewards. For specifics on how Recruit A Friend works, select a game below.

Note: For the Recruit A Friend feature in World of Warcraft, check out our World of Warcraft Recruit A Friend article.

Hearthstone

Getting Started

You can recruit any number of friends, but only recruits who have a Total Hero Level below 20 will be eligible for rewards. Players can check their Hero levels by clicking the Quest Log button on the main menu and checking the number next to Total Level.

Note: You cannot unlink your account once you've accepted an invitation from a veteran player. Make sure your veteran invites you to the correct region when they send you their Recruit A Friend link.

Follow these steps to recruit your friends:

  1. Log in to Hearthstone and click the Recruit A Friend button at the bottom of your Friends List.
  2. Copy your unique Recruit A Friend link and share it with your friends.
  3. Once they follow your link and log in to Battle.net, your accounts will be connected.
  4. Play Hearthstone and claim great in-game rewards.

Veteran Rewards

When one of your recruits reaches a Total Hero Level of 20 on their account, you'll receive the Shaman hero, Morgle the Oracle.

You'll receive a free Classic card pack for each of your next four recruits who reach a Total Hero Level of 20 on their account. You won't receive any rewards after your initial five recruits reach Total Hero Level 20.

Note: You and your recruits must play in the same region to earn rewards. You can check your region in the Region/Account dropdown above the Play button on the Battle.net desktop app.

Recruit Rewards

New recruits receive a free Classic card pack for linking their account with a veteran and completing the tutorial.

Heroes of the Storm

Getting Started

You can recruit any number of friends who are player level 5 or below. Players can check their player level by clicking their portrait in the upper-right corner of the in-game menu screen and selecting Player Progression.

Follow these steps to recruit your friends:

  1. Log in to Heroes of the Storm and click the Recruit A Friend button at the bottom of your Friends List.
  2. Copy your unique Recruit A Friend link and share it with your friends.
  3. Once they follow your link and log in to Battle.net, your accounts will be connected.
  4. Play Heroes of the Storm and claim great in-game rewards.

Note: Only your five highest-level recruits will be tracked on the in-game status page.

Veteran Rewards

When one of your recruits reaches player level 10 on their account, you'll receive the Recruit A Friend portrait.

Once four of your recruits reach player level 10, you'll receive the Vulture mount.

Note: You and your recruits must play in the same region to earn rewards. You can check your region in the Region/Account dropdown above the Play button on the Battle.net Desktop App.

Recruit Rewards

New recruits unlock Raynor and a 5-Day Stimpack the first time they log in after linking accounts with a veteran.

Once a new recruit reaches player level 10, they unlock Sylvanas and the Recruit A Friend portrait.

Troubleshooting

Invalid Code

This error occurs when the Recruit A Friend URL you entered is incorrect. Ask your friend to send you the entire URL again, and make sure no part of it is missing.

Invitation Already Accepted

This error appears when you try to accept a Recruit A Friend invitation, but you've already linked your account with another veteran.

If you want to switch to a different veteran, open your Recruit A Friend menu from the bottom of your Friends List. Click the gear icon next to your veteran's BattleTag. Click New Veteran, and select the new veteran you'd like to link your account with.

Note: The new veteran must be logged in to the game for you to switch.

You Are Ineligible for This Promotion

If you see this error, your account is above player level 5 and cannot be a recruit. You can still recruit other friends to earn Recruit A Friend rewards.

Other Errors

If you see a different error, check the BlizzardCS Twitter for any service disruptions and try again later.
