Common Problems
- My friend isn't receiving my friend request
- I get the error "You don't have room for any more Blizzard friends"
If you cannot add BattleTag or Real ID friends, make sure you are entering your friend’s BattleTag or email address correctly. If the problem persists, check the following.
Friends Blocked by Mistake
Make sure neither of you has the other one blocked in error, for example, if you ignored each other in-game.
- Open the Battle.net App
- Click on the Blizzard logo and click on Settings
- Click Friends & Chat
- Click View Block List
If you blocked each other, remove the block and try adding each other as friends again.
New Battle.net Accounts
Before they can add friends, recently created Battle.net accounts require to have the player's name added on the Account Details page, as well as a secret question on the Security details.
Friend List Full
You can have a maximum of 400 BattleTag or Real ID friends. If you reached 400 friends, you must unfriend someone before you can accept new friend requests.
Friend requests you sent and are still pending will count against your friend list limit.
To cancel pending friend requests:
- Open the Blizzard Battle.net application
- Open the friends list on the right side
- Click the cogwheel icon at the top of the list
- Choose View Sent Friend Requests
- Cancel pending friend requests
- Open the Blizzard Battle.net Application
- Click the Battle.net icon on the top left
- Select Settings
- Select Friends & Chat
- Select View Sent Friend Requests
- Cancel pending friend requests
Parental Controls
An account that is restricted by Parental Controls cannot have Real ID friends. If you are under the age of majority, speak to your parents to Update your Parental Control Settings. If your friend is under the age of majority, make sure they do the same.
You can have BattleTag friends even if restricted by Parental Controls.
